I'm a Stay at Home Mommy Now!

Hello! This has been my first week home as a stay at home mom. It's been quite the week! I was expecting all this free time hoping to get everything done that needs done...boy was I surprised.

I've worked at Community Mental Healthcare for the past 8 years and the Corps of Engineers 4 years previous. That goes back to my high school and college days working as a lifeguard, waitress, book stacker, and telemarketer. So, to say the least, I felt like I was ready to be home full-time.

What I didn't realize is that my 2-year old, Rocky, has more energy in his pinky finger than I have in my entire body. Second, my almost 7 month old can't do much on his own so he consumes all my time.

Please understand - I love my boys and I love nothing more than being home with them. I just didn't realize all the free time I thought I would have is the same amount of free time I had before - nap time and bed time. It's taken me a week to figure this out!

I'm hoping I can get organized this weekend - plan some meals, figure out a good schedule, etc. so I can give my full attention to the boys and not feel guilty for leaving the dishes in the sink.
